Front Surface Mirror
FRONT-SURFACE MIRRORS
The Front-Surface Mirror is the result of a vacuum deposition of aluminum on optical-select glass. It is generally used for scientific instruments and cinema effects. In operation, the Front-Surface Mirror projects a high-quality image reflected off the first surface of the mirror, as opposed to the back surface typical of a household mirror. Because of this first-surface reflection, there is no refraction or distortion of an image.
The Front-Surface Mirror is protected by a hard quartz overcoat, which also enhances the reflectivity to 92% reflection in the center of the visible spectrum. It is available in thickness ranging from.025" (micro-glass), to 3/16". PANCRO will customize parts when order an is accompanied by a drawing.
